FILM FESTIVALS

The Connecticut Film Festival
Your ticket to independent filmmaking

May 4-9, 2010
Danbury

Whether you’re in front of the screen or behind the camera, the Connecticut Film Festival is your source for some of the most innovative features and shorts of the next century. Our mission is to teach, to excite, and to encourage, but most of all to connect you to experiences and people that can truly ignite your creativity and imagination.

The Festival offers real-time access to the evolution of filmmaking. We create a haven where filmmakers can sit with composers, screenwriters, cinematographers, lawyers, distributors, and many other critical contacts in the development their careers as they hone their craft.

Our exclusive educational programs provide individual courses that can add to filmmakers’ skill sets while broadening screenwriting, film production, post-production, editing, and scoring experiences. They’ll be exposed to the nuances of “the making of the deal,” handling the legal and business sides of their career, and discover the essential keys to finding the right audiences and distribution for their work.

And then, there are the films….clever, funny, wry, sad, sensitive, but always interesting. The film menu at the Connecticut Film Festival offers an intoxicating blend of local flavors and global spice. This year we feature a special series of films from Eastern European filmmakers. The films are chosen based on their ability to move audiences and share a universal point of truth.

Our little state of Connecticut is quickly becoming known as the shooting location for hundreds of independent films, big and small, in the last three years alone. By connecting the resources and talent with the world stage, the Connecticut Film Festival will help usher in a new era of creativity and excellence in film in Connecticut.
